Short answer: Our standard MOQ (minimum order quantity) for custom printed paper bowls is 30,000 pcs per size and artwork. Each size-and-artwork combination is produced as its own run, so the MOQ applies to each combination — not to your total order.
Why Does MOQ Exist?
Paper bowl production involves real setup costs per run: printing plates or cylinders, machine setup, color calibration, and coating preparation. These fixed costs are the same whether the run is 3,000 or 30,000 pieces. Below a certain volume, the setup cost per bowl becomes uneconomical — for the factory and for you, because the unit price would be unreasonable.
What “Per Size and Artwork” Means in Practice
This is where most first-time buyers get confused. Examples:
- One size, one artwork, 30,000 pcs → meets MOQ. ✔
- One size, two artworks, 15,000 pcs each → does NOT meet MOQ. Each artwork is a separate print run. ✘
- Two sizes, one artwork each, 30,000 pcs each → meets MOQ (two runs). ✔
- Five SKUs totaling 30,000 pcs → does NOT meet MOQ unless each SKU hits 30,000. ✘

What Affects the Final MOQ?
- Bowl structure: Double-wall and specialty structures may carry a higher MOQ than standard single-wall bowls.
- Print coverage: Full-wrap, multi-color artwork costs more to set up than a single small logo.
- Coating and finishing: Specialty coatings or finishes can raise the minimum.

For first-time buyers we can discuss trial arrangements — for example, stock designs or simplified artwork at lower quantities. Tell us your target quantity and we will advise the realistic options. What we will not do is promise a below-MOQ custom run and then quietly substitute materials or skip proofing to make the math work.
How to Plan Your First Order
- List every SKU as size × artwork.
- Check each combination against the 30,000 pcs MOQ.
- Consolidate artworks where possible — one design in two sizes is two runs; ask whether a single design can serve both.
- Request samples of your top SKUs first (about 7 days), then place the bulk order (about 30 days production).

Does the MOQ apply to stock (non-printed) bowls?

Why do some suppliers quote a much lower MOQ?
